It’s time for #ThrowBackThursday again and here is a photo of Senator Wendell Ford from the UK Libraries John D. Whisman Collection. In 1956, Wendell Ford was elected president of the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees). Ford and his wife, Jean, acknowledge the cheers of the convention upon his election.
As late as the 1970’s The Jaycees were an important proving ground for many Kentucky politicians and Wendell Ford was one of the most successful.
